Upgrade required: FedLine Direct® customers to enhance device connection

In our rapidly changing cyber environment, it is important to maintain security practices that can help safeguard against attacks to your network. As part of the Federal Reserve Banks’ ongoing efforts to increase the security and resiliency of our FedLine® Solutions, we are beginning a multi-year effort to enhance FedLine Direct Solution connections.

Upcoming router upgrades for FedLine Direct customers

This effort will require all FedLine Direct customers, as well as customers that have FedLine Command® and FedLine Advantage® configurations with Dedicated Wide Area Network (WAN) connections, to upgrade their existing routers to more current devices.

Using updated hardware and firmware with the latest features can help ensure optimal performance and increase network security. Below are some of the high-level benefits financial institutions can gain by completing this upgrade:

  • Simplified bandwidth changes
  • Improved device resiliency
  • Flexible deployment options
  • Modernized, space-saving single rack unit installation (where applicable)

How to prepare for these upgrades

Starting in February, a member of the Support Center team will reach out to designated End User Authorization Contacts (EUACs) at impacted organizations to help them prepare for upcoming maintenance on their circuits and schedule upgrades to their devices.
