FedDetect® Duplicate Check Notification Frequently Asked Questions
- I use a third party/correspondent to process my checks. Can I still receive Duplicate Check Notification reports?
Yes, if you are acting as a BOFD, you will be able to receive reports for checks that are cleared either directly by your bank or by your processor/correspondent through the Federal Reserve Banks.
- How are reports delivered?
Reports are delivered via encrypted email to your designated inbox or through a web-based encrypted portal for retrieval.
Encrypted email notification delivery is integrated into the service and uses a third-party vendor email service from ZixCorp®. Delivery and access to the email notification varies based on whether the receiver is already using a ZixCorp product.
- If the recipient’s organization uses Zix™ email services or ZixMail® client software, the encrypted email is delivered directly to the recipient’s regular inbox.
- If the recipient’s organization does not use any Zix services, the encrypted email is sent to a web-based encrypted email portal and stored there for later access. The encrypted email portal then sends an unencrypted notification email to the recipient to alert them of the notification available in the portal.
- When are reports delivered?
Reports are only sent when potential duplicate activity is detected. If potential duplicates are found, reports are delivered at designated early-morning and end-of-processing-day times.
- How can I view and modify my subscription?
- Log into your FedLine Web® Solution or FedLine Advantage® Solution using your Check Services credential.
- Click on the Check tab.
- Click FedDetect Duplicate Notification in the left navigation.
- Once in the self-enablement portal, you may add and remove recipients, edit contact information and modify reports.
Note: If you do not have a Check Services credential for the subscribed RTN, you may submit subscription changes via the Service Request Form (PDF).
- Why am I not receiving my Duplicate Check Notification reports?
You will only receive reports when potential duplicate activity is detected.
If you believe duplicate reports are not being delivered properly:
- Confirm emails are not being blocked by your spam filter. Ensure that the domain name “encryptedmail.achedi.com” is on your organization’s safe sender list. Also ensure that filters allow for attachments with “.html” extensions.
- Confirm the contact information in the self-enablement portal is correct.
