Resolve ACH exceptions securely with the Exception Resolution Service

The security and efficiency of payment resolutions matter now more than ever. Exception cases typically include sensitive data, including names and account numbers. However, the use of unencrypted email and fax to settle these exceptions is not inherently secure and introduces risk. Even within a secure environment, unintended recipients could potentially mishandle or even exploit sensitive information.

Why secure exception resolution matters

As highlighted in the recent Nacha ACH Operations Bulletin (Off-site), ACH network participants are encouraged to use secure electronic channels to communicate sensitive information and resolve ACH exceptions. The use of the Exception Resolution Service aligns with the industry’s need for a secure, efficient service for payment resolutions.

The Exception Resolution Service provides a secure exchange of exception case information between financial institutions. Designed as an efficient solution for institutions to monitor and respond to exception cases, the Exception Resolution Service eliminates labor-intensive processes and helps address time-sensitive customer needs.
