Enhancements to Reporting Central application to begin this fall through 2026
August 6, 2025
The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System is planning to make enhancements to the Reporting Central application to modernize the infrastructure and provide an improved user experience. The user navigation and interface of the updated Reporting Central application will have a modernized look and feel. Reports collected in Reporting Central are expected to transition to the updated version of the application in waves, with the first reports planned to migrate in October 2025. Additional reports are planned to migrate in subsequent months with a target of moving all reports to the updated version of the application by year-end 2026. During the transition period, users can access Reporting Central through FRBservices.org and will be directed as to where to file each of their reports once in the application. Updated user guides will also be available on FRBservices.org to assist with the transition to the updated application.
Active Reporting Central credentials will not be affected by this change. As a result, existing users will not need to make any changes to their tokens or credentials. New users and existing users requesting access to additional reports will need to file the Federal Reserve Bank Subscriber Access Request Form (FORM RC-1). New users will continue to register through the process outlined at the Service Setup page. Questions regarding access should be directed to the Services Support Center.
As part of the enhancements to Reporting Central, plans are being made to optimize the application’s technical functionality, including plans for a transition to a more efficient XML file upload format for a subset of reports. This proposed change will apply only to reporters who elect to use the file upload feature for the specific subset of reports, as user interface data entry will continue to be available in the existing and updated Reporting Central application.
Reports that are planned to transition to the modernized XML file upload format are: FFIEC 009, FFIEC 009A, FFIEC 019, FR 2004SD, FR 2004SI, FR 2004WI, FR 2028B, FR 2028S, FR 2420CD, FR 2420FE, FR2420IB, FR 2644, FR 2900, FR Y-12, FR Y-12A, TFC1, TFC2, TFC3 and the TIC family of reports (TICBQ1, TICBQ2, TICBQ3, TICCQ1, TICCQ2, TICD, TIBCB, TICBL1, TICBL2 and TICSLT). At this time, there are no plans to alter the file upload formats for other reports. Reserve Bank staff will communicate additional information to filers of these specific reports, including the proposed timeframes for transition to the XML file upload format, in a separate letter concurrent with this communication.
