Keep up the pace for July 14

As previously announced, Federal Reserve Financial Services (FRFS) will begin migration activities to implement the ISO 20022 message format for the Fedwire® Funds Service during the July 12-13, 2025, weekend. Friday, July 11 will be the last day that the current format (i.e., Fedwire Application Interface Manual (FAIM) version 3.0.7) will be supported by the Fedwire Funds Service. After the Fedwire Funds Service closes at 7 p.m. ET, the current format will no longer work and any FAIM-formatted messages you send will not be accepted and will be deleted during the migration weekend.

What can you do?
Between now and the service close on July 11, ensure that you review all the action items outlined in the curated preparedness checklist below that best applies to your institution:

Important Note: We highly recommend that you continue to test in the DIT2 all the way up to the migration weekend. If you have issues after the migration weekend, the Support Center may prioritize support for customers that have tested in the DIT2 environment.

Please contact us or the Support Center with any questions.

Have you finalized your preparedness and contingency plans?

All customers should test sending and receiving ISO 20022 messages in the DIT2 environment. It is highly critical that you have a contingency plan in the event that you are unable to send or receive ISO 20022 messages through the Fedwire Funds Service.

Customers should review the following steps to prepare for the upcoming July 14 migration:

DIT/DIT2 testing support post-ISO 20022 go-live

Post-ISO 20022 migration, the two DIT test environments will be configured as described below:

  • The DIT environment will continue to serve as the production-like environment for the Fedwire Funds Service.
  • The DIT2 environment will host future enhancements for the Fedwire Funds Service. (See article below on fast-follower release.)
  • During the month of August, the DIT environment will support testing of the production ISO 20022 software version (replacing the FAIM version) and the DIT2 environment will support the fast follower release as described above. Please contact our Wholesale Testing Services with any questions.

Please note: The DIT2 environment will be on an adjusted schedule for the first week of production (i.e., July 14-18). For additional details, please refer to our Quick Reference Guide available on the public page on the MyStandards® portal.
