Direction: You can access the application by clicking the logon button located on the Reserve Central page.

Home Page: Current Maintenance Period

Observation: The home page is the starting point for you to access your institution's reserve information, and provides summary information on your Reserve Balance Requirement, Penalty-Free Band, and Average Balance.

The home page defaults to the current 14-day Maintenance Period and reflects data as of the current day.

Note: As announced (Off-site) on March 15, 2020, the Board reduced reserve requirement ratios to zero percent effective March 26, 2020. This action eliminated reserve requirements for all depository institutions.

Note: The screen shot shows the fifth day of a current 14-day period for an institution that manages a master account.

Home Page: Multiple Account View

Observation: If an institution manages more than one account, for example, a master and an excess balance account, then its home page will show all accounts.

Direction: Click one of the two Reserve Balance Requirement hyperlinks to access the Reserve Requirement report.

Observation: This report shows how an institution's Reserve Requirement and Reserve Balance Requirement are calculated.

Reservable Liabilities Report

Observation: This report displays seven-day totals of FR 2900 report items that are used in the calculation of the Reserve Balance Requirement. FR 2900Q reporters will only see one week's worth of data.

Note: The screen shot depicts data for an institution that files the FR 2900 weekly. A weekly reporter's Reserve Balance Requirement is based on two weeks of FR 2900 data.

Reserve Requirements Report: Correspondent View

Observation: The upper portion of the report shows your own Reserve Balance Requirement and the sum of your respondents' Reserve Balance Requirements.

Reserve Requirements Report: Correspondent View (Cont.)

Observation: The lower portion of the correspondent's report reflects respondents' Reserve Balance Requirement information. Respondents are grouped by the frequency with which they report the FR 2900. A correspondent cannot access its respondents' Reservable Liabilities reports.

Home Page: Current Maintenance Period

Note: The Penalty-Free Band is a range on both sides of an institution's Reserve Balance Requirement within which an institution must maintain balances on average over the period to satisfy its Reserve Balance Requirement.

Note: As announced (Off-site) on March 15, 2020, the Board reduced reserve requirement ratios to zero percent effective March 26, 2020. This action eliminated reserve requirements for all depository institutions and sets the top and bottom of the penalty-free band to zero.

Direction: Click on the Average Balance hyperlink to view the daily ending balance(s) held during the period along with the Average Balance.

Balance Detail

Observation: The screen shot depicts an account with daily ending balances available for the first four days of the period. The Average Balance is equal to the Sum of Daily Balances divided by four.

Home Page: View Prior Maintenance Period(s)

Direction: To select a prior period, use the "Select Maintenance Period" drop-down menu.

Direction: To view prior periods, click the "View Prior Periods" radio button.

Prior Maintenance Periods

Observation: Interest and Charge amounts in Past Maintenance Periods are displayed in the last two columns.

Directions: Select an Interest or Charge amount for more details. In this example, we selected $2,623.32 from the Maintenance Period beginning on 10/15/2015.

Note: Payment of Interest occurs one business day after a period ends. A Charge is assessed five business days after a period ends.

This action eliminated reserve requirements for all depository institutions and sets the bottom of the penalty-free band to zero. As such, no depository institutions may be deficient in its reserve balance requirement.

Interest and Charge Detail

Observation: The top portion of this report displays Interest payment details.

Observation: All transactions for this period will be displayed (e.g. interest payments), along with the transaction date.

Observation: The bottom portion of this report would display Charge details. In this example, no Charge detail appears because the institution was not deficient in its Reserve Balance Requirement.

This action eliminated reserve requirements for all depository institutions and sets the bottom of the penalty-free band to zero. As such, no depository institutions may be deficient in its reserve balance requirement.

Direction: Click on the Own Reserve Balance Requirement hyperlink to view the Reserve Requirement report for a future period.

Direction: You may also select a future maintenance period from the "Select Maintenance Period" drop-down menu.

Note: A Reserve Balance Requirement will be available seven business days before a maintenance period start date.
