ITYP Description | Proper Usage
Late Return Disclaimer (LR) – Used by the Drawee bank to request a credit entry to dispute a Late Return Claim (LC) debit entry.
If you returned the check within the deadline and want to dispute a Claim of Late Return (LC), submit an LR to the Federal Reserve.
Please refer to Regulation CC (Off-site) for paying bank’s responsibility for return of checks.
Note: This adjustment procedure is offered as a convenience only and does not preclude any party from pursuing its claim in another forum.

*Same Day Entry/Acknowledgement Requirements
All electronic adjustment requests received by 5:00 p.m. ET with complete information will receive same day entry/acknowledgement. Supporting documentation (attachments) must be provided at the same time the electronic adjustment message is submitted.
All paper adjustment requests received at the Check Adjustments Centralized Data Entry Site by 11:00 a.m. ET with complete information and documentation will receive same day entry/acknowledgement.
