ITYP Description | Proper Usage
Information Request (INFO) – Used to request information generally related to an entry or correspondence initiated by the Federal Reserve Banks; as it is described in the comment field.
If you receive an entry or correspondence from the Federal Reserve and require additional information in order to complete your research, submit an adjustment request to the Federal Reserve with detailed information in the comments field.
Note: Customers no longer need to submit an Information Request (INFO) request to receive Bank of First Deposit (BOFD) information. Effective March 21, 2022, BOFD information will proactively be provided on all applicable Paid Item (PAID) and Source of Receipt (SOR) cases submitted on or after March 21, 2022.
If you need a copy of an advice, an attachment supporting an entry or both, provide a detailed description in the comment field. The Accounting Entry Identification Number (AID) is required.
If you are reporting an Expedited Recredit Request, submit your request with the required attachment If you receive a Free item from the Federal Reserve (our endorsement is on the item), submit a request for information (RFI) using the INFO ITYP to the Federal Reserve and mail the item to the Check Adjustments Centralized Data Entry Site. If the Free item was not received from the Federal Reserve (our endorsement is not on the item) you must research the item to determine where it belongs.
For all other retired ITYP requests for which an INFO should be reported, include complete cash letter information with Listed As (LAS) and Should Be (SBE) amounts when applicable and provide detailed information in the comments field.
NOTE: The INFO ITYP does not apply to requests for a copy of a cash/return letter recap or detail listing or request for source of receipt (SOR). Refer to the Photocopy Request (PREQ) and SOR ITYPs respectively for this type of request for information.
