The production environment houses the Fedwire Funds Service and the Fedwire Securities Service applications along with the Account Balance Monitoring System (ABMS) used daily by our customers. Limited customer testing is available on selected Saturdays throughout the year. Two types of production tests are available:
Customers may verify the installation of new hardware and/or software components in their production environment on the Saturday immediately preceding an implementation of a software or hardware upgrade. This testing may include physical connectivity, encryption, network definitions, and data security (logon/password) authorization.
The Federal Reserve Banks are committed to helping ensure industry-wide disaster preparedness and contingency planning. We schedule four tests each year. All high-volume customers, as determined by their Fedwire Services activity, are required to participate in two or three contingency tests per year and at least one of these tests must be conducted from their backup processing site. In addition, all customers are invited to test contingency preparedness in our Depository Institution Testing (DIT) environment.
We reserve the right to pre-empt any published testing dates to accommodate special situations or emergencies that may arise.
