Evolution: FedEDI Plus Service turns into FedPayments Reporter

April 2012

As the FedEDI® Plus Service has evolved, the service’s name has also changed to better reflect the expanded reporting capabilities that now extend well beyond the conversion of electronic data interchange (EDI) payment information. The FedPayments® Reporter Service — the new name for FedEDI Plus — can expand your reporting capabilities. It scans through all of the fields in your automated clearing house (ACH) transactions, creates the reports you selected and even delivers them to you and your customers — automatically.

Expanded reporting capabilities

The FedPayments Reporter Service can help you do many things:

  • Speed compliance tasks within your own ACH operation and help your customers do the same with the help of reports such as the Notification of Change (NOC) Report, the Return Item Report, the International ACH Transactions (IAT) Report and the Return Ratio Report
  • Keep an eye on ACH processing activity with the help of reports such as the ACH Routing Number Activity Report
  • Provide key business customers with human-readable reports or straight-through processing files of important payment information such as invoice numbers
  • Create potential revenue opportunities

Delivering value

With the delivery options available from FedPayments Reporter, you can deliver value-added information to your customers via the same well-established delivery channels they are accustomed to using. On-us Inclusion and Reports via FedLine® access solution functionalities help you provide customers with a complete picture of payment activity. You send a file of on-us/on-we transactions to FedACH Services for inclusion into remittance advice reports and deliver that information via FedLine connection to enable population of Internet banking cash management portals.

Living up to its new name

The FedPayments Reporter Service continues to expand its reporting capabilities. The most recent round of enhancements, anticipated for implementation in second quarter 2012, will add new functionality that includes:

  • A NACHA®-formatted file of payment-related information for straight-through processing by EDI-compatible accounts receiveable systems
  • An ACH Volume Summary by SEC Code Report to help your institution monitor its ACH activity by reporting, for example, on WEB entries originated at the institution or individual corporate customer level
  • A Remittance Summary Report to help corporate and business customers recap and validate their origination activity
